The Percheron Horse Breeders Society of South Africa is the only legitimate Breeders Society of Percheron horses in South Africa. Our Society is affiliated with SA Studbook and operates within the framework of our constitution, as accepted, and approved by the Registrar of Animal Improvement in South Africa.
Prospective buyers of Percheron horses must ensure that the animals they purchase at or during auctions, sales or donations are registered with our Society. New owners must also ensure that overdue fees, birth notices and transfers are paid up, signed, and submitted by the seller. Pure bred animals are not necessarily eligible for registration in the Studbook of the Percheron Society of SA.
The Percheron Society would like to assist with new owners of Percheron horses, but the necessary documentation must be in place. Fully registered animals are inspected animals of which all information is correct and up to date.
